Where people start
- The kitchen is in flat-packed boxes in your front room and the delivery date has been and gone.
- The fitter the supplier recommended wants more than the kitchen cost.
- Nothing in the room is square and the units are all exactly the same size.
- You have been let down once already and you want somebody who turns up.
Where they end up
- Doors that line up along the whole run, with the same shadow gap end to end.
- End panels and fillers scribed to the wall rather than caulked over.
- Worktop joints cut and finished properly, not disguised.
- The room cleared down at the end of every day, not only the last one.
How the job runs
Step by step, and nothing owed until step three.
- 01
A look at what you have got
Send photographs of the room and the kitchen plan, or Arshdeep comes and looks. The main question is whether what you have bought will physically fit the room, because roughly one job in five arrives with a problem the supplier's planner did not catch.
- 02
A fitting-only price
A written figure for labour, with anything we would need to buy listed separately. If there is a problem with the kitchen you have been sold, you hear about it now rather than on day three.
- 03
The fit
Units out, units in, worktops templated and fitted, doors hung and adjusted. Arshdeep runs one job at a time and the room gets cleared down each evening.
- 04
The snag walk
We walk the room together at the end and you point at anything that is not right. A door that has dropped a millimetre is a five-minute job on the day and an annoyance forever if nobody mentions it.
What we work with
- Any supplier's units: Howdens, Wren, Magnet, IKEA, Benchmarx and the rest
- Quartz, granite, laminate and solid timber worktops
- Blum and Hettich replacement runners and hinges where the originals are poor
The guarantee
The fitting is guaranteed for 12 months. If a door drops, a drawer stops running true or a joint opens up, we come back.
Insurance
Fully covered by public liability insurance.
What separates a fitted kitchen from an installed one
The units are the same. What differs is the hundred small decisions nobody photographs: whether the run was levelled off the highest point of an uneven floor, whether the end panel is scribed to the wall or packed and filled, whether the doors were adjusted after the carcasses settled or hung once and left.
Those decisions are what you look at every morning for the next fifteen years.
Bring a fitter in early if you can
The best time to talk to a fitter is before you order, not after. Ten minutes over a plan catches the 200mm gap the planner filled with a decorative panel, the tall unit that will not clear the ceiling, the drawer that opens into the door frame.
We are happy to look at a plan whether or not you end up using us for the fit.
Common questions
Asked often enough to answer here.
What does kitchen fitting cost on its own?
Fitting-only work is priced on the size of the kitchen and the state of the room. The ranges are on the kitchen fitting cost page. Small pieces of work start around £200. A full installation of a kitchen you have supplied is usually a four-figure job.
Will you fit an IKEA or Howdens kitchen?
Yes, and we fit a lot of both. Different systems have different quirks, and IKEA's rail in particular rewards somebody who has hung one before, but there is no supplier we will not work with.
What if the kitchen I bought does not fit the room?
You hear about it before we start rather than halfway through, which is the whole point of looking first. Usually it is solvable with a filler, a modified unit or one swapped item. Occasionally it means going back to the supplier, and we will tell you exactly what to ask them for.
Do you take the old kitchen out?
Yes, and we can take it away. Strip-out and disposal is priced separately, because some people want to sell or reuse the old units and there is no sense charging everybody for a skip.
Can you do the worktop as well?
Yes. Laminate and timber we cut and fit ourselves. Stone and quartz are templated once the base units are in and fitted by the stone supplier. We coordinate that and make sure what they template is what you actually want.
How far do you travel for fitting-only work?
About fifty miles from Hayes, which covers most of West London, Middlesex, Surrey, Berkshire and Hertfordshire. Beyond that the travel starts costing you more than it is worth.
